Scientific council
The Scientific Council is a consultative body of the Elcano Royal Institute for all issues relating to the effective compliance of the directives from the Board of Trustees, particularly those connected with research, publication, technical consultation and institutional relations. Its members are well known figures from the academic world, communications media, political parties and other walks of public life with special knowledge of international relations.

The Council meets periodically, at least once a year, although its members can also convene ad hoc work groups to draw up reports and conduct research as the occasion arises.
